I drew this a few years ago for Visual Communications 3 & 4 as part of a game cover I was designing (a fictional current gen remake of Final Fantasy I, based on Brian Clevinger's 8-Bit Theater).
Simply put, they're the Four Fiends. Clockwise from top: Tiamat, Kraken, Kary and Lich. For those of you who notice, yes I flat out copied the Tiamat from D&D. But I only did it because I couldn't find any concept art for Tiamat from FF. I've got some now, but it's a bit late... I also, kinda fudged up the fireballs Lich is casting. I thought it'd be a good idea to make the bottom of them blue (like real flames). BIG MISTAKE (way to go brain...). Anyway, drawn with fineliner and coloured pencils. Enjoy. |

This is very bloody awsome. I recgonized Tiamat from Dungeons and Dragons straight off. The others I could name from heart easily. You ever consider drawing Chaos? After looking over the fiends, I bet you could do him justice.

OMG! MY SCAR IS BURNING
I remembered the show D&D.
There are 2 versions for the Tiamat:
FF1- A six-headed blue dragon.
FF2- A five-headed light brown dragon with wings.

What I esepcially like is the size of Tiamat. Considering how even Lich looks to be twice as high as the Light Warriors, Tiamat must have been an epic battle if she was this big compared to our four champions.
Though perhaps Kraken should have been a bit bigger.
I also have to give serious props for old-fashioned colouring with pencils. As impressive as using Photoshop can be, I find that hand-colouring is quite intriguing and impressive if done well. Also I have a soft spot for it. It makes high-quality work that still looks 'attainable,' if that makes sense.
Again, fine work!
